Flywheels

We produce three sizes of turned brass flywheel to fit our units, all of which are available separately. The 22.0mm diameter flywheel is available in two thicknesses with a 2mm bore: 4mm and 8mm. It will fit the SM, Mashima and Canon motors. The 28.5mm flywheel is available with a 2mm or 2.5mm bore and will fit a motor shaft of the appropriate diameter. JH round motors have a 2.3mm bore, 22mm and 28.5mm are also available with a 2.3mm bore for this motor.

Coach Wheels

Mansell types of 3’ 7” turned steel coach finescale wheel are available fitted to 3/16" axles for either coaches or non passenger carrying stock. Each axle comes with two brass top hat bearings and will fit all vehicles with outside bearings without modification. The wheels can also be adapted for use with inside bearings. The Mansell wheels are supplied with the whitemetal inset already fitted.

Couplings

A single link coupling made of pressed steel, fitted to the vehicle body by a single screw/bolt (not supplied). It is similar in design to those used on tinplate models, and can assist in preventing buffer locking when long wheel based vehicles are pushed (supplied in pairs).

We can also supply an uncoupler hook (shunter’s pole), made of brass and nickel silver, that can assist in coupling and uncoupling vehicles. Its overall length is 123 mm. It is suitable for attaching to a penlight for ease of use.

Storage Boxes

We supply four sizes of strong card boxes that are suitable for storing the appropriate size locomotive, coach or wagon. It should be noted that some very large tender locomotives will not fit in the large box with their tender eg. The Southern Railway “Lord Nelson” class, so separate boxes may be required for the locomotive and tender.

Due to their bulk, we do not normally send these items by mail order, but always have stock at exhibitions. Should a number of boxes be required at an exhibition the customer is attending, a call to us beforehand would be appreciated so that we can prepare the order prior to delivery at the show.
