LBSCR/SR 8 Ton Goods Van

 

 

The LBSC produced few covered goods wagons, but those to SR diagram 1433 were the most numerous, and are represented by this kit. There were several variations in planking, ventilators, brakes etc and modellers are recommended to obtain a picture of the vehicle to be modelled. Many vans lasted through to SR days and a number survived into BR days, mainly in departmental use. 49 vehicles were transferred to the Isle of Wight from 1927 onwards, and some remained in service there to the end of steam on the island in 1966.
